Managing User Accounts

There are four types of accounts (called roles) that control what a user can do.

Account Roles

Administrator Can manage users, archive and use all functionality in the media bank.
Editor Can upload and edit media files but can not create users and archives.
Read-only User Can view, download and share media files, but can not edit.
Upload-only User Can not view any media files, can only upload. E.g. for external photographers.

Create User

Accounts are created under Settings.

  1. Click New User
  2. Input e-mail address (used as username) and password.
  3. Select account role: Bildredaktör, Läsanvändare, Uppladdare
  4. Select which archives the account should have access to.
  5. Click Create User

Edit Users

Accounts are edit under Settings

  1. Click Users in the menu.
  2. Click the pen icon to the right of the user you want to edit.
  3. Make your edits and click Save

Change Password

  • Editor users and administrator can change their password under Settings.
  • Users can also reset the password by an email link from the login box Forgot Password?. Observe that read-only users only can change password this way to make sure that users can't change the password on shared read-only accounts.
  • Administrators can also change a users password via Settings -> Users -> Asterisk/Star Icon next to each user.

Access to Media Files

If you want different users to have access to different media files use Archives.
